Explore one of the Olympic Peninsula’s most remarkable landscapes from the peaks of the Olympic Mountains to the shores of the Strait of Juan de Fuca. In this immersive five-week course, staff from the Dungeness River Nature Center, the Jamestown S’Klallam Natural Resources Department, and local experts will guide adult learners through the natural and cultural histories of the Dungeness Watershed. Each session combines presentations with hands-on field trips to iconic locations throughout this 200-square-mile watershed. The course starts on August 20 and continues every Thursday until September 17. Topics will include geology, glacial history, native plants, wildlife, salmon ecology, habitat restoration, water resource management and the Dungeness National Wildlife Refuge.
