Jamestown S’Klallam Tribe and 7 Cedars Light Display – Blyn

Late November through January

Nothing says the holidays are here on the north Olympic Peninsula like the breathtaking lights installed by the Jamestown S’Klallam Tribe and 7 Cedars in Blyn (just east of Sequim). They illuminate the night sky with the largest holiday light display in Washington. Every year, beginning in October, a crew from P. Walker Inc. spends roughly 7,500 hours installing the magical light display of over three million lights. The holiday lights have become a tradition and a beautiful way for the Jamestown S’Klallam Tribe and 7 Cedars to say thank you to the community and Happy Holidays to all.

New this year, Holiday Light Tours will be available for $15/person for the public with tours departing from the hotel’s front entrance, offered Monday-Thursday at 6 pm and Friday-Sunday at 6 pm and 8 pm. They will travel to all the tribe’s lighted properties, including the Railroad Bridge by the Dungeness River Nature Center in Sequim. Space is limited, so reservations are recommended. They can be made at the hotel’s front desk. LEARN MORE

Festival of the Firs – Shelton and Hoodsport

November 28 through late December

Festivities kick off Thanksgiving weekend with a two-day waterside celebration at Alderbrook Resort in Union, highlighted by the annual tree lighting and the arrival of Santa and Mrs. Claus by boat. From there, the holiday spirit spreads across the county with community events in Allyn, Belfair, Shelton, and Hoodsport.

On December 5–6, Shelton hosts its beloved annual parade and tree-lighting ceremony, along with the grand opening of Paul Bunyan and Babe’s Camp Grisdale in Christmastown. For 12 days and evenings, visitors can enjoy live music, a tree maze, crafting activities, fire pits, scheduled snow flurries, delicious food, and local vendors—all set within a festive re-creation of a historic logging camp.

On December 14, head to Hoodsport for the charming Yule Tides celebration, featuring family-friendly activities and events throughout this picturesque seaside town.
