Experience a family-friendly, Scandinavian-inspired festival on the shores of the Hood Canal. This annual event honors historic Nordic traditions with a mix of community spirit, local flavors, and maritime adventure. The festivities kick off with a traditional sidewalk parade led by Scandinavian fiddlers and the grand arrival of local Vikings on a custom-made ship. Throughout the day, you can explore over 20 local vendors, enjoy dedicated children’s activities, and feast on fresh oysters, Norwegian treats, regional wines, and craft beers. For those 21 and over, a dedicated tasting grotto features specialty cocktails and the year’s featured aquavit release. The heart of the event remains the “Paddle the Canal Challenge,” where participants can bring their own watercraft or rent a kayak to race across the fjord alongside a barrel of aged aquavit, recreating a storied Nordic journey.
