Located on the southwest coast of the Olympic Peninsula, Kalaloch (pronounced clay-lock) beaches are a favorite visitor destination. Eight beaches are easily accessible from Highway 101 near Kalaloch Lodge. Pebbled Beach 4 provides pounding surf and teeming tidal pools and is a popular spot to dip for smelt. Picturesque Ruby Beach, named for its sometimes garnet-colored sands, offers a meandering creek, dramatic sea stacks and a driftwood-strewn beach.
