Jefferson Land Trust's Annual Meeting and Bring-Your-Own Picnic

Enjoy your picnic lunch while Executive Director Sarah Spaeth shares stories about saving our most special local places, from farms to forests to wildlife habitats. Take the short trail down to the creek to watch the magic of chum salmon spawning, and learn about the habitat restoration we have done here. And then have some family fun with nature games designed to heighten awareness, gain wilderness skills and deepen your relationship with the natural world, led by CedarRoot Folk School staff.
Clallam County Farm Tour

The 18th Annual Clallam County Farm Tour is being held on Saturday, October 4th from 10am - 4pm. This year’s theme is “Farming for our Future,” with each stop on the tour featuring displays and activities about the ABCs of preserving our local farm culture: Adapting to climate change, fostering Beginner farmers, and Conservation of farmland. Local climate organization Olympic Climate Action is supporting the event by providing a Farm Tour bike map and hosting WSU Jefferson Extension director Dr. Laura Lewis, who will be giving short talks about farming in a changing climate.

Dungeness Crab & Seafood Festival

This international seafood festival, brings it all together for travelers and locals alike: fresh Dungeness crab, whole crab dinners, 14 restaurants (including vegetarian and non seafood choices), cooking demonstrations, chowder cook-off, family Grab-A-Crab Derby, local wine and beer, crafts, music stage, environmental programs, 5k run, Feiro Marine Science Center, and more. The Festival is right on the waterfront in Port Angeles, next to Olympic National Park and just a ferry ride away from Victoria, British Columbia. Admission is FREE!
Concert in the Woods- "Curtis & Loretta"

Curtis & Loretta are a husband and wife duo producing extraordinary harmonies. They display proficiency on a parade of stringed instruments with their poignant original songs, and selected traditional pieces from the British Isles, America, and beyond. The current menagerie includes Celtic harp, mandocello, mandolin, guitars, clawhammer banjo, and National steel ukulele, plus a bit of kazoo, harmonica, and shakers.

Kitten Rescue Of Mason County will hold their annual Holiday Bazaar & Bake Sale on Saturday, Dec. 7, 2013, from 9a.m. to 4p.m. in Shelton at 420 SE State Route 3. The event will feature homemade baked goods, crafts and collectibles, pet items plus a silent auction and 2 quilt raffles.
