Governor’s Representative to speak at Grand opening (Sequim, January 26, 2006)

Peter McMillin, Managing Director of Washington State Community, Trade and Economic Development’s Tourism office will be the keynote speaker at the opening of the Sequim Quality Inn & Suites on February 24th. Governor Gregoire is unable to attend in person as she will be attending the National Governor’s Association Conference in Washington D.C.

“We are honored that Ms. Gregoire is acknowledging not just the hotel, but Sequim as a city, by sending someone of Peter McMillin’s standing in her place,” says General Manager Nancy Schade.

Sequim Quality Inn & Suites, situated right off H’way 101 at River road is the City’s newest hotel. The 60 bedroom property features an indoor pool, hot tub and fitness room as well as meeting facilities and a 24 hour business center. Free Internet is available in all rooms and public areas are served with wireless internet.  “Since we opened our doors, we have been encouraged by the positive feedback from our guests,” says Schade.

The formalities of the Grand Opening of the hotel on February 24th will commence at 5.30pm when Sequim mayor, Walt Schubert, will officially welcome the hotel. Clallam County EDC Executive director, Linda Rotmark will also be speaking at the event. Letters of support from both Governor Gregoire and State Representative Jim Buck will be read out and a non-denominational blessing of the property will be given by Pastor Dennis Hughes.

Sales & Marketing advisor Damian Humphreys believes the lineup of speakers shows the interest in the new hotel. “We have speakers coming from a City, County and State level for the opening of the Sequim Quality Inn & Suites. Sequim is the important thing here. The city’s growth is being recognized and the hotel in particular has answered the call to provide great service and facilities to ease the increased need that comes with development.”
